Akerstrom Radio Remote Control |
The
crane above was designed in accordance with the Swedish IKH norms
to handle steel coils upto a maxium of 35 tonnes capacity. The crane
was fitted with equipment to allow for future semi-automatic operation.
The main hoist was controlled via a 6 step electronic speed control
system. Inverters are fitted to the cross traverse and long travel
motions to provide infinitely variable controlled acceleration/deceleration.
Limit switches are fitted to all motions. Operation of the crane was
from an Akerstrom radio remote control with standby pendant. Below
the main hook hangs coil handling tongs suppled from Somers Engineering.
